Patch Notes 0.17.0 - Clans & Economy

Published 29 September, 2023

Skål, Vikings! Today is a day of celebration we've long awaited and prepared for, and it has finally arrived. Now, everyone can come together, join, and form clans in Valhalla. We are thrilled to witness the arrival of these diverse and incredible clans! But that's not all—alongside clans, we're introducing a bunch of new features and enhancements. Let's dive into the details!

Welcome to the birth of clans! We've recognized the need to unite, to forge bonds that go beyond bloodlines, and to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with those who share our visions and dreams. To ensure that clans could thrive in this magical land, a lot of preparation and planning had to be done. But with patience and belief, we have managed to do it!

A new Viking has joined us here to help. With them, you now have the power to create, join, and manage your own clans, each with its unique purpose and philosophy. Receive a hint on where to find them by pressing [G].

Another issue that has been resolved is communication! We have set up a mail system in Valhalla to allow all Vikings to receive mail, enabling Jarls to send invitations for their clans. Access your mails by pressing [P]. More mail types will follow soon.

Once you have joined a clan, beware! Every Saturday, from 00:00 UTC until 23:59 UTC, all clans will face a challenge that will last only 24 hours. So strive to complete this challenge as often as you can so that the Clan Vera Wisp can grow as much as possible. For each Viking completing the challenge, the clan earns Unity, a form of boost. 1 Unity is 1% more Clan points, 2 Unity is 2% more Clan points, and so on, up to 25.

New combat arena

We are thrilled to announce a wonderful new discovery that awaits you all on the battlefield. Behold, the newest combat arena, a clean beach with a beautiful view of the untamed ocean of Valhalla. Here, amidst the clash of steel and the roars of our mighty Veras, you will experience battles like never before.

To keep the game healthy and avoid rising prices, we've revamped and improved our in-game economy.

Runix Pouch

The new Runix Pouch allows Valhalla systems to maintain a balanced in-game economy by limiting how much players can buy in one go. When you have enough Runix, it automatically refills, making your shopping more efficient. Vikings can also increase their pouch's size through upgrades in the shop, allowing for bigger purchases while keeping the game world balanced. The next time you enter Valhalla, you will be asked to acquire the Pouch; if you are a new Viking, you will immediately have it after customizing your character.

Runic Dust

Prepare to gather a new currency that has been introduced! This potent substance serves as a reward for your successes in PvE battles. However, keep an eye on the ancient runes, as there is a daily limit to how much you can collect.

There is exciting news! A new and extraordinary person has arrived amongst us, known far and wide as the "Blacksmith." This remarkable person has set up shop in our midst, offering us the opportunity to exchange our hard-earned Runic Dust for precious Runix.

Post Battle Loot

But there's more to gain from victorious Vera Encounters than just Runic Dust and amulets. Players will also receive special materials, which are invaluable resources. Their importance will become increasingly apparent over time. In fact, these materials are such mysterious artifacts that they can't be viewed through normal means yet; only a complicated spell involving the exploration of a chain of blocks can reveal them.

The Hub

Prepare yourself for some straightforward and relaxing gameplay. We've made it more convenient for you to enjoy both PvE and PvP combat by introducing a central hub. Say goodbye to the hassle of switching between different game modes; now, you can effortlessly transition between battling Veras and engaging in player-vs-player combat—all in one place!

Bug fixes

  • The Frantic Force ability description has been updated to specify the damage it does.
  • Changing your on-player Vera slots are now synced for Area 1 and Area 2. This means less refreshing and more Open World Veras!
  • A bug that was causing Vikings to crash while taming has now been resolved, allowing everyone to continue playing.
  • Wild Veras have now acquired the ability to taunt by skipping their turn during combat.

That's all for today! While we've done our best to catch all the bugs, it's possible that a few might have slipped through. We have faith in our Vikings to help us identify and report any issues they come across. Don't hesitate to communicate with us about any problems or bugs you encounter through our community's Discord:

Until next time!
